About Masada
Masada is an ancient fortress on a dramatic rock plateau overlooking the Dead Sea, about 85 km from Jerusalem — roughly 1 hour 15 minutes by car. The ruins of Herod's palaces and the story of its defenders make it one of Israel's most visited sites. Most guests leave Jerusalem early, reach the summit by cable car or the Snake Path, and spend the rest of the day floating in the Dead Sea nearby.
